Two numbers from different worlds, forced into a single identity — and a whole landscape falls out of it.
Ask for the radius whose circle has exactly golden area, and the exponent that turns golden growth into π. Both questions have one answer each, and those two answers are the entire genome of this field:
Every shell, filament, polar jet and coherent bloom you will find is a continuous deformation of that one algebraic point. The default framing puts it at the centre of the frame; the atlas is a record of where it leads.
Depth is measured in floors — golden-ratio layers away from genesis. The descent is renormalised in log space: magnification is wrapped into a single self-similar octave and the stripped octaves travel alongside as an exact offset, so shells, hues and four-dimensional slices stay continuous however far you ride. There is no floor at which the image breaks.
Every integer floor boundary flips the field into its topological dual: density and curvature operators invert, the golden-angle step reverses, and a counter-rotating lattice appears nested against reciprocal shells. The crossing is crossfaded over the last few percent of each layer, so you glide through the inversion rather than snapping across it.
Eight oscillators live at every point, seeded from the field's own rotation, curvature, growth, wave and radial slice. Density sets their coupling; a few mean-field relaxation steps let them partly synchronise. Where they lock, the region collapses onto one pure aligned hue. Where they don't, colour splays across the whole spectrum. You are looking at a phase-coherence map, not a palette.
At the centre sits an oblate core with a catenoid throat bored along the polar axis. Rays crossing it are swallowed; light passing near it is deflected, piling every traversed layer into a bright rim. Colour is drawn down one pole and thrown back out of the other. Dive far enough and the horizon swells until it is all there is.
Hold the view still and the image refines itself: each frame adds another jittered sample to a running average, so grain resolves into structure. The Plate counter in the readout tells you how many samples deep the current image is. Capture waits for that number to climb before it writes the file.
The frontier survey renders candidates and scores them on what actually landed in the frame: how much of it is occupied, how far the colour spreads, how much structural energy the gradients carry, the entropy of the luminance, and whether the mass sits somewhere you would want to look. It is a taste function written down honestly — useful, opinionated, and not the last word. Keep what it finds and disagree freely.
